Regardless of different shapes, they are mainly divided into two categories: single-head electric heating tubes and double-head electric heating tubes. Let’s learn how to distinguish them.
1. Different Structures
For cartridge heaters (single-head heating tubes), two lead wires or terminals extend out from one end of the tube.
For double-head electric heating tubes, one lead wire or terminal extends from each end of the tube respectively.
2. Different Power Design Standards
Due to different wire outlet modes, the internal arrangement of resistance wires differs between the two types, leading to different power design standards.
With the same pipe diameter and length, the surface load of single-head heating tubes is higher than that of double-head ones.
3. Common Classification
It is easy to tell them apart after knowing their differences.
Common single-head electric heating tubes: mold cartridge heaters, threaded cartridge heaters, finned single-head heating tubes.
Common double-head electric heating tubes: straight double-head heating tubes, U-type heating tubes.
Flange heating tubes are assembled by fixing multiple U-type tubes on a flange plate, so they also belong to double-head heating tubes. Most special-shaped heating tubes are modified based on double-head heating tubes.
