Mold Heating Tube


The mold heating tube adopts a metal tube as the outer shell, with high-resistance electrothermal alloy wire installed as the heating element. High-purity magnesium oxide with excellent insulation performance and high thermal conductivity is filled and compacted around the heating wire as the insulating filler. This product features high power, high thermal efficiency and fast heat dissipation.

Design Requirements of Mold Heating Tube

Steel heating is an essential heating method for the design of almost all plastic forming molds. It can be designed in various wiring forms such as single-end wiring and double-end wiring. Available pipe materials include seamed pipe, seamless pipe and stainless steel pipe. It is characterized by low heat loss, high thermal efficiency and simple wiring, and can be designed for 220V or 380V as required with flexible and diverse wiring methods.

Due to the limitations of material and processing technology, its inherent characteristics shall be taken into account in mold design:

1.Ordinary mold heating tubes are usually equipped with long cold ends at both ends, which do not generate heat. Therefore, our company’s import-simulated single-end heating tube dedicated for molds is recommended. It only has one cold end with a small length of about 1cm.

2.The power design of the heating section of ordinary mold heating tubes should preferably not exceed 10 watts per centimeter. For example, a 30-centimeter-long heating tube should have a power no more than 300 watts. Exceeding this limit will lead to high surface load of the heating tube, easy oxidation and corrosion of the steel pipe, and further cause short circuit.

Our import-simulated single-end heating element for molds can reach a power design of 20 watts per centimeter (premised on good heat conduction; the clearance fit is controlled within 0.05mm, and the dimensional tolerance of our SLM type heating element is ±0.05mm).

Electric heating rods are applied to heating equipment such as plastic forming molds, hot pressing forming machinery, cigarette machinery, rapid sealing machines, pharmaceutical machinery, analytical instruments, shoemaking machinery, semiconductor eutectic welding, runner heating of die castings, runnerless injection molding, and refrigeration effect during expansion of various gases.
